More time flies by, and my stepfather Phil visits and helps out! We get the last of the frames attached, and a veneer on the transom: book-matched burled maple. It will look nice when the varnish is on!

The seat fronts are a plywood face with a circular access port that will form part of the waterproof floatation compartments in the boat. They are attached with stringers fore-and-aft and tie together 4 frames and the transom.

Seat fronts and the veneer on the transom in the foreground. That’s stepdad Phil: “hi Phil”!
Until the real stringers are attached, frames are held in place with temporary side-to-side bracing.
